Responsibilities

- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to support business decisions.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, collaborating closely with the leadership team and project managers.
- Monitor project costs and profitability, providing regular reports to assist with project management and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banks as required.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct financial risk assessments and recommend strategies for mitigation.
- Support senior management with financial modelling and business case analysis for new projects and investments.
- Lead and mentor a small finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate superannuation and tax compliance.
- Drive process improvements to enhance the efficiency of financial systems and reporting.
- Provide clear, actionable financial insights to non-financial stakeholders across the business.
- Champion a culture of integrity, accuracy and professionalism in all financial matters.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA/CPA qualification highly regarded
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management, ideally within construction or property development
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance
- Proven ability to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in MYOB, Xero, and Microsoft Excel
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated leadership with the ability to mentor and develop a finance team
- Full working rights in Australia (Australian citizen/permanent resident or relevant visa holder)
