Responsibilities
- Carry out a variety of skilled trade tasks such as carpentry, concreting, formwork, steel fixing, or general labour as required by project specifications.
- Interpret and follow construction drawings, plans, and instructions accurately to deliver high-quality workmanship.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, maintaining all equipment in good working condition.
- Comply with all site safety protocols, PPE requirements, and AJ Labour Hire’s safety standards at all times.
- Work closely with site supervisors, foremen, and team members to coordinate daily tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Identify potential hazards and proactively address or report them to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct basic site clean-up and material handling to keep work areas tidy and organised.
- Adhere to relevant Australian building codes, regulations, and best practices on every job site.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and colleagues to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Complete assigned tasks with attention to detail, ensuring all work meets client and AJ Labour Hire expectations.
- Maintain punctuality and reliability, representing AJ Labour Hire’s professional reputation on every site.
- Report any incidents, near-misses, or equipment issues promptly to supervisors or AJ Labour Hire management.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ongoing training as required.
- Support a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment across diverse project teams.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in a relevant skilled trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical, concreting, or similar) within the Australian construction industry.
- Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card) and comprehensive understanding of WHS/OHS regulations.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certificates recognised by Australian standards (e.g., Cert III or IV, or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and delivering quality workmanship on every project.
- Full Australian working rights; sponsorship not available for this role.
- Own reliable transport and basic tools preferred.
